christmas catching with the crew

so it's not actually christmas. sue me. we're on our winter break, so every day is at least slightly christmas. you understand. this diary entry comes with horrible news - i'm bankrupt.

it seems like webfishing currently doesn't upload save data to the steam cloud. it looks like it supported it at one point, but the functionality was temporarily removed in a recent patch. i recently switched all of my gaming stuff to a computer that can handle it without exploding, and so i had to start webfishing over from a clean slate. still, i'm not just gonna not play when i am invited to webfish, so i decided to start gaining back my webfishing cred and wealth, one by one.

thank god for friends, who will happily fish with me, despite their scary teeth and compound eyes. i played mostly with my friends kenny and fin, who are huge webfishing fans. they're the ones who invited me to play to begin with and i imagine they'll continue to be a mainstay in my game diary.

it wasn't hard at all to start ranking up again. i think i leveled up at least a few times just after a few minutes, which was good. i'll be back to level ten-ish in no time.

kenny started chasing me with a giant stingray. this is almost as bad as when one actually stung me and put neurotoxins in my blood

i also spent the rest of my money on a camp upgrade and some fun stuff, like shirts and boots. but that left me completely broke, so i of course had to go back to doing the only thing i know how to do - fish. using a little trick i learned online, i catapulted myself onto the big ocean rock and fished there for a while. fin saw me, and wanted to join me, so i did my best to coach them through the trick to getting there.

they did get there, eventually! it's much harder than it looks.

falltime fishing fun with friends

lately, i've been peer pressured by my darling dearest friends into getting this game. i don't play it much, but when i do, it's with them. it's nice to play when everything else is too stressful and you just need a break. the older animal crossing inspiration is a lot of fun, and i like it a lot. this isn't the first time i've played it, but it is one of them. this fun little stint was done over our college's painfully short fall break while i was sitting and nursing two twisted ankles...

i played for about an hour with pals kenny, freddy, and fin. the second cat is mine. i'm still deciding what to name it... things started out fairly laid-back and normal, until they quickly were not.

i don't know who was holding up this fish, but that's how big it looked from the other end of the lake. i hope they made a lot of money off of it. after that, i caught my own big fish.

not as impressive as the other thing, maybe, but i was surprised. i went and put him in my aquarium instead of selling him.

after a long stint of fishing with my buddies (and my fishing buddies) i headed to the store to buy some treats. this time, i got some rain boots and a little tambourine, and then i went to go hang out with fin at the dock. i slapped the tambourine at them a few times as a gesture of friendship. not too long after that, the alien fish was spotted.

this time, everyone let me have it.
